No level cap in GW2 bum anyone else out?
I don't know about you guys, but for me, the low level cap was a big reason that brought me to guild wars. Hmm... GW2 might just be like "the no subscription WoW," as whoever has the least life is best (xcept, unlike WoW, GW doesn't seem intent in mixing PvE and PvP too much ) I liked the idea that level, skills (to some extent), and armor play a minor role in determining who performs better if the player has a lot of skill.
Now with the level cap being 100+, it could end up being just like all other hardcore rpgs, with one lvl 100 guy being worth 10000000 of you (if you're presumably like level 20). In pve it obviously won't matter (though you will see the use of the word "N00B" go up exponentially) but in pvp your level may mean everything... I know that guild wars didn't abandon the structured pvp and are still offering it, but it will be won't be THE pvp and the real competition (and dev attention) will be focused on the fullscale wars (i have no way of knowing this for sure, but i doubt the majority of people would play 6on6 when they could fight 1003on875) We can't change the fact that it is confirmed the level cap will be very high, but I still hope that skill and strategy will be able to transcend level; or i hope it would end up being like runescape where the majority of ppl are fighting people their own level. They said they'll reset the battle servers every once in a while for balance... so it may end up like a FPS, where the skill (level) of the person is completely random, and the teams even out with equal amounts of clan leaders (level 100s) and casual gamers (level 10s). No, I'm not bummed out about it. No why? Because GW2 won't even be here for around 2 years! JEEZ!
I hope ANet realizes that by announcing GW2 this early, they've efficiently lowered the amount of notice the GW:EN is getting. Wonderful marketing decision. |

Im not bummed out, it gives something past level 20, now you just dont get useless skill points at every level.
As for announcing GW2 this early, VERY terrible idea. I now know I am not gonna get GW:EN, since I wont even play GW when I know it will be obsolete in a couple years. |

Why breathe? You're just going to die anyway.
It's more than 2 years away. Besides no one even knows how those levels will affect gameplay. |
